Zain Bahrain (BSE: ZAINBH), a telecommunications industry innovator in the Kingdom, has recently launched the third edition of 'Girls for Tech' in collaboration with the Supreme Council of Women and Clever Play, inviting young girls with interest in STEM to join this creative summer camp.
Girls for Tech targets girls interested in STEM to immerse them in the technology field through informative and interactive weekly sessions for two months during the summer. The sessions will teach participants how to create games and websites, basic robotics, and how to incorporate computer science studies into daily activities.
Through this partnership, Zain Bahrain continues its' commitment to contributing to bridging the gap by establishing this initiative and creating more significant opportunities for young girls to receive the essential training needed to pursue STEM professionally as a career. This initiative also helps Zain Bahrain achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals – SDG 4 Quality Education, SDG 5 Gender Equality, and SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth.
Abdulla Bin Khalid Al Khalifa, Zain Bahrain Director of Communications & Investor Relations, commented: "Zain Bahrain strengthens its commitments towards achieving equality in the workplace by providing equal opportunities. Having noticed the lack of female presence in the STEM field, we have collaborated our efforts with SCW and Clever Play to provide this unique learning experience which aims to enhance creative female youth talents and contribute to furthering the advancement towards Vision 2030."
Rania Al Jurf, Director of Gender Balance Center, Supreme Council of Women, commented: "We strive to ensure gender balance within the STEM field by giving young females the opportunity to meet their fullest potential through this valuable and fun learning experience. This distinctive program fosters new talents and introduces new futuristic career paths which will later serve the improvement of different STEM sectors in the Kingdom."
Shaikha Latifa Bint Mohamed Al Khalifa, Clever Play Co-Founder, and CEO, added: "After successfully training a total of 1000 young Bahraini girls through Girls for Tech, it has become clear how impactful the program is as 100 outstanding girls were moved to advanced programs after their excellent performance to encourage female participants to grow this interest in STEM beyond Girls for Tech."
Girls aged 8-14 years old can now apply by visiting https://www.bh.zain.com/ar/cs/girlcode, for an informative and interactive summer course in STEM.
