Zain Bahrain Celebrates International Day of Sign Languages with Bahrain Deaf Society

In efforts of extending its inclusive culture, Zain Bahrain (B.S.E.: ZAINBH), celebrates International Day of Sign Language with Bahrain Deaf Society, by hosting an event for Bahrain Deaf Society members and children, and Zain employees' children.

Aiming to promote a culture of unity and inclusivity, the event included a Bahraini Sign Language basics workshop for children by a professional Sign Language interpreter and viewing of "Nothing like Zain" Play with Sign Language interpretation, along with a range of entertaining activities tailored for children, encouraging bonding, understanding, and awareness among all attendees.

A team of Zain employees who are trained in Sign Language were invited to ensure effective communication and engagement, making it possible for all attendees to participate in the event activities.

Fatema Haider, Manager of Sustainability, and Inclusivity at Zain Bahrain, expressed her enthusiasm for this collaboration, stating "Zain Bahrain is very proud to continue its partnership with Bahrain Deaf Society, marking Zain's ongoing commitment in promoting inclusivity and diversity within the local community. This initiative provides awareness for children about the Deaf segment and teaches them how to communicate efficiently with their peers despite the differences in their abilities. Zain Bahrain will continue providing community engagement activities promoting its Corporate Sustainability strategy."

Hussain Al Ghuraifi, President of Bahrain Deaf Society: "It is a pleasure to be part of this collaborative event with Zain Bahrain, providing members of Bahrain Deaf society the opportunity to engage with the community while participating in entertaining activities. It is important to also highlight how impactful such initiatives are, especially for children by embedding knowledge and awareness from an early stage."

Zain Bahrain maintains an extended partnership with Bahrain Deaf Society highlighted through the launch of Natawasal, the first health video call center for the deaf segment in the Kingdom. Such initiatives support Zain's Sustainability and Inclusivity (S&I) strategy, ensuring that Zain's core values and initiatives are aligned with the United Nation's SDGs.
