Local MPLS
Zain owns a state-of-the-art core network based on MPLS technology to provide converged services for data transmission and primary services (L3VPN, VPLS, Internet, VoIP) to be over this network, Zain core network based on optical fiber that extends in north, south, east, and west of Bahrain. It covers the main areas in Manama, as a backbone for all voice and data traffic, reaching and covering more than 95% of areas in Bahrain by Microwave towers, and it is built on the latest technology of fully redundant MPLS nodes that are capable to provide layer 2/3 connectivity for the customers through fiber or Microwave connections.
