- The device insurance service covers only Bahrain.
Q6: Should the Customer choose to terminate the service within the insurance contract period, are there any termination fees?
- No, there are no termination fees, refunds or exchanges.
Q7: Are there any fees for extending the Policy for an extra month?
- No, insurance period extensions are not allowed.
Q8: Can the customer insure a laptop or Smart TV?
- No, SmartInsure only covers Mobiles & Tablets purchased from the approved retailers.
Q9: Should the customer bring the device he/she wants to insure to a Zain branch at the time of applying for Zain Safe?
- Yes, the Customer should present the device along with the purchase invoice.
Q10: If the Customer owns 2 mobiles and 1 tablet, can he/she buy a policy for them all?
- Yes, customers can purchase a policy for each device.
Q11: How many claims can I benefit from for the duration of the insurance coverage?
- The maximum number of claims for Mobiles & Tablets for the duration of the insurance are: 1. 2 claims (only one of them can be for theft)
2. If the device is replaced after any claims, the insurance automatically expire.
Q12: If the Customer buys a 12-month insurance service, can he later switch to 18 months?
- Unfortunately, the Customer cannot change the insurance period once purchased.
Q13: If the insured device gets damaged and cannot be repaired, will the insurance cover it as well?
- Yes. If the device was unrepairable, it will be replaced with an identical new device, or with one with similar features. The Customer cannot upgrade their phone or tablet. Market value applies for the determination of device value.
Q14: Can the Customer replace a device for more than 1 time?
- No, as the insurance certificate expires once the device is replaced.
Q15: Can the Customer have a device repaired more than 1 time?
- Yes, the Customer is eligible to have 2 repair operations over the course of the insurance period.
Q16: What should the Customer do in case of theft or accidental damage?
- The Customer should report the incident immediately through the hotline at 80078888.
Q17: How much should the Customer pay in case of repair or replacement?
- Within the insurance period, no payment is required for:
1. The first two (2) repair procedures
2. The first (1) replacement procedure.
Q18: Can non-Bahraini customers get Zain Safe service?
- Yes, all citizens and residents with a valid CPR can apply.
Q19: Can the Customer get reimbursed in cash and buy a new device instead of a replacement?
- No, there will not be cash reimbursements from the Insurance Company. The device will be replaced with a new one.
Q20: If the Customer’s device gets infected by a software virus, does Zain Safe cover it?
- No, software damages are not covered by the policy.
