Zain Bahrain and the community
In Zain Bahrain, we believe that a corporate entity should be a supporting pillar of the community it serves. Since the launch of our company in Bahrain in 2003, we have been committed to Corporate Sustainability (CS). Our newest CS goals aim to drive engagement with the community across several areas, including Social Innovation, Climate Change, Inclusivity, creating Shared Value, and realization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
We consider progress and positive change within the Kingdom to be at the heart of everything we do, as we consider Zain Bahrain to be a stakeholder in and contributor to Bahrain's future prosperity, as outlined in the leadership's Vision 2030.
Through our Social Innovation pillar, we aim to promote and support startup communities that address social issues, such as the creation of solutions that provide access to people with disabilities, or that generate education opportunities for all.
We address Climate Change by taking control of our impact on the environment. Zain Bahrain implements green solutions such as waste and water management, and we follow the Environment and Social Management Plan (ESMP) guidelines across all operations.
Inclusivity is an essential component of our business, and we have adopted an inclusive approach that ensures all members of our community are given equal access to our products, services, and the company as a whole.
The creation of Shared Value is a key element to our CS strategy, as we aim to generate value for the community as well as our company.
Last but by no means least, we recognize the importance of realizing the United Nations SDGs for the good of the global community, as well as the planet. We continue to address the SDGs through our core business, while ensuring that we also align with Planetary Boundaries and Social Thresholds.
