​Zain Bahrain Continues Network Expansion​

Manama, Bahrain- As a part of its ongoing network investments, Zain Bahrain, the most innovative operator in the Kingdom, today announced plans to enhance its network coverage footprint which will allow improvements to its existing network and meet the increasing customer demand.

Zain Bahrain currently uses latest generation of wireless network technology and provides several benefits for consumers, including faster mobile Internet speeds —up to 10 times faster than 3G, improved performance, reliability and new 4G LTE-compatible devices.

The network expansion is part of Zain Bahrain's ongoing efforts to expand its 4G LTE coverage and drive investment and innovation in order to deliver the Kingdom's most advanced mobile experience. The network expansion is also a part of the US$100 million network transformation program, commenced back in April 2013, and deployed by Ericsson, the world-renowned technology solution provider.

"Our goal is for our customers to have a wonderful experience. We always look for new opportunities to provide enhanced coverage and our investment in the network is another way we are accomplishing that," said Hamad Al Romaihi, Network Director from Zain Bahrain.

"The second phase of the network transformation program will aim to enhance capacity in the existing base and roll-out new sites across the Kingdom. Our efforts will focus on a considerable network expansion which will ultimately result in seamless and stronger connectivity for our customers," said Hamad.

"The network expansion comes in line with Zain's commitment to enhance customer experience by leveraging the best technology and to ensure that our customers enjoy the best coverage and access to the new generation of communications," he said.

The network enhancement will allow Zain Bahrain customers to enjoy the maximum possible speed 4G techno​logy can offer and significantly enhanced coverage and data connectivity speeds as a result of the new network. ​

Zain Bahrain entered the Kingdom's telecoms market in 2003 as the second mobile operator and as at 30th June 2013, serves 748,000 customers, reflecting a 36% year-on- year growth. The operator has earned a reputation of implementing innovative business practices and providing customers cutting-edge technologies, putting Bahrain on the global telecommunications map with a string of firsts – the first country with nationwide 3G, then 3.5G and WiMAX coverage. Today, Zain Bahrain has developed into a successful fixed wireless service operator offering full-spectrum corporate telecoms solutions, voice and data services in the Kingdom. In April 2013, the operator launched hi-speed 4G LTE services that will be gradually rolled out nationwide to homes, offices and on the mobile network.​
