Zain Bahrain and Bahrain Society for Training & Development sign a cooperation agreement to enroll 20 Bahraini Women in various departments through the Zain Youth Program

Zain Bahrain, a leading telecommunication operator in the Kingdom, has signed a cooperation agreement with the Bahrain Society for Training & Development; via the Zoom online platform. With this initiative, Zain Bahrain aims to increase training and employment opportunities for young females in various departments of the company through the "Zain Youth Empowerment" program. In alignment with Zain Bahrain's women advancement strategy, the program is designed to provide work exposure and empower Bahraini young females with the latest skills inspired by the World Economic Forum 2025 with a focus to enhance the skills and create a competitive future workforce that contributes directly to Bahrain's Vision 2030.

The partnership was signed by Sheikh Abdulla bin Khalid Al Khalifa, Director, Communication & Investor Relations at Zain Bahrain, and Mr. Ahmed Mahmoud Attia, Chairman of the Bahrain Society for Training & Development (BSTD). The aim of the partnership is to attract young Bahraini females in the 20-24 age group who will benefit from gaining hands-on experience that is required by the labour market and access to the nature of the workplace.

Commenting on the initiative, Mohammed Isa, Manager, Employee Relations & Youth Development at Zain Bahrain said, "Zain Bahrain highly values the important role played by the BSTD through its contribution. In addition, he added, "The focus provided on uplifting the local skills and talent is in sync with Zain's professional environment. We are pleased with the partnership and look forward to achieving the goal of preparing the youth to be the best choice in the labor market".

Fatima Haider, Manager of Sustainability & Inclusivity at Zain Bahrain, added, "Our partnership with the BSTD has always been a representation of the commitment we as a company have and share with the institute, aiming to contribute towards the growth of the Kingdom of Bahrain. We at Zain Bahrain continuously align to serve Bahrain's 2030 vision with the recent agreement on the Youth Female Advancement Program. We are collaborating to provide youngsters with accesses and opportunities for their growth which is in line with our D&I Strategy. We continue initiating programs that advance and empower all segments in the local community."

Mr. Ahmed Mahmoud Attia, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the BSTD, expressed appreciation for the efforts made by Zain Bahrain and their confidence in the association. He welcomed the idea of the pioneering program that confirms the level of the distinguished programs launched by Zain Bahrain to empower Bahraini youth. He further explained, "The idea of encouraging young females to join the program will contribute to achieving equal opportunity and gender balance, especially since the program focuses on the undergraduate and graduate categories, which challenges Bahraini females to achieve a balance between work, study, and social life. This is fully consistent with the goals of Zain in developing the skills of females and youth in a manner that contributes to supporting the vision and direction of wise leadership." He further expressed appreciation for the efforts made by the Committee for the Integration of Women's Needs, under the leadership of Dr. Hooreya Al-Dairi, along with training and continuous mentoring.

The introductory session organized by the Society was hosted virtually, which included official members of Zain Bahrain, to introduce the program to potential applicants. The presentation focused on success stories from previous program graduates and reviewed lessons learned from the program in honing their personal and employability skills.

Zain Bahrain and the BSTD have opened the door for registration to young women wishing to join the program through Zain Bahrain's official website, under the Zain Youth Empowerment Program tab.
