SIM Verification process
The SIM verification process is among the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority's requirements. It will link customer fingerprints to their telecom services.
Registration of new SIM cards belonging to new/existing customers:
The documents required for the verification scan, whenever applying for a new service, are:
|GCC Nationals||Valid Passport or ID card issued by a GCC state|
|Non-GCC Nationals||Valid Passport or Bahraini ID (CPR)|
Each Customer can have a maximum of 10 Prepaid SIM cards starting from Wednesday, 12 July 2017.
The verification process is compulsory in these cases:
- You are an existing or new Zain customer
- Change of ownership
- Customer verification and profile updates for existing Prepaid, Postpaid and Broadband customers
- Porting from other operators to Zain Bahrain
What is the verification process?
It is simply a fingerprint scan for identity verification that is now mandatory whenever you are visiting our retail shops or approved resellers for service activation, change of ownership, profile updates (existing customers), or migrating from another operator to Zain Bahrain.
It is now in force as per the latest Telecommunications Regulatory Authority's regulation.
Who is required to undergo a verification process?
All subscribers, residents and visitors, whether current or new customers.
What documents are required for the verification scan?
A passport/national ID card for GCC nationals, or a passport/CPR card for non-GCC nationals.
What should I do if my ID card has expired?
Please have it renewed at the earliest.
Can a Zain subscriber authorize another person to give his/her fingerprints?
Unfortunately, no. In case of individuals, please show up in person.
Can I activate more than 10 Prepaid lines under my ID?
Unfortunately, no. The maximum number of Prepaid lines per Individual is 10.
