The Supreme Council for Women in partnership with Zain Bahrain and Clever Play launched the "Girls for Tech" program, which starts from December 2019 - March 2020. The camp will be only for young girls between the ages of 8 to 14 years in Seef District and Clever Play in Riffa. The program works toward a gender-balanced digital learning ecosystem. It teaches 1,000 girls how to code, challenging stereotypes, and putting girls on the mainstream of tech innovation.
The S.T.E.M camp will inspire and empower young girls in Bahrain with tech tools, knowledge, and resources to develop their coding skills and learning the basics of building robots and stem projects. This initiative comes in line with Zain Bahrain's Youth Empowerment and Women Empowerment programs, which aim to improve the intellectual, social, and technological education awareness amongst the next generation and to reinvent the path for your girls in the kingdom.
The camp will offer a full program, free of charge, that will encourage young girls to explore the wonders of S.T.E.M in and outside of school mentoring opportunities, and programs that help them to get into stem professional careers to remain in the field of technology. It will also progressively build an infrastructure that supports stem-oriented girls in the kingdom who will be among the scientists, technologists, engineers, artists, and mathematicians in the future.
Please note that the applicant will have to choose a day in the week to attend the four weeks program (Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday), and S.T.E.M camp will be held at Zain headquarter in Seef District and Clever Play in Riffa.
