Bahrain - At the heart of all action

Being at the centre of action comes easily to Bahrain. This archipelago of islands in the Arabian Gulf is geographically well-sited for its role as a business and communications hub. Since the ancient times when it provided a trading and supplies hub to ships plying between the Indus Valley and the Babylonian and Dilmunic civilizations to modern days when it has emerged as a world financial hub, effective communications have always been given priority by Bahrain. Little wonder that the Kingdom has emerged as one of the most liberalized and competitive telecommunications market in the region.

Bahrain is the designated headquarters of the Zain Group.

Liberal: Because of its historical connection to great civilizations, Bahrain has always had a generous cosmopolitan outlook. The many expatriate communities are encouraged to work alongside Bahrainis and live in social harmony. Several international communities live here, all enjoying freedom of worship.

Arts and cultural events are encouraged and there are many community schools and social organizations. People enjoy freedom and leisure and restaurants serving all types of cuisine abound in Bahrain – in fact, there is not one cuisine type that is not represented here.

Timeless: In modern Bahrain, the ancient souqs jostle in the shade of towering shopping malls of the 21^st century. Spices, perfumes and rich silks vie for attention with the latest electronics and designer wear. Skyscrapers dominate the skyline along with fascinating archaeological sites to explore, such as Qalat al Bahrain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Lifestyle:  International syllabus from different countries are available at community schools and private schools. Healthcare is excellent and there is presently a boom in sophisticated private healthcare. Housing is still relatively reasonable and spacious homes can be had for reasonable rents. Expatriates can also own freehold property in designated parts of Bahrain.

New developments like the gated townships and spas and leisure properties like the Lost Paradise of Dilmun are creating waves too.

Most communities have their own clubs with sporting and leisure facilities. Team sports are popular including:

* cricket

* watersports

Bahrain plays host to the Formula One Grand Prix, a sporting extravaganza that has put the Kingdom in the spotlight with motorsports aficionados.

Since it is compact and has a good network of roads, a typical commute is just a matter of minutes. Here you can balance work and leisure in a way you may never have been able to before.

Weather  Bahrain enjoys a good climate all the year round, with the warmest months being June to September; October to November and March to May are temperate; December to February are comfortably cool, with winds and brief rain showers. Bahrain also has an average rainfall of only 9 days per year.
