What is Zain Wallet?
Zain Wallet Services are used for performing financial transactions (person to person payments, international remittances, airtime top up) by using any Zain Wallet enabled mobile phone.
 
Is a bank account required to use a Zain Wallet account?
There is no need to have a bank account. Zain Wallet is a bank account.
 
What do I need to open a Zain Wallet account?
For Bahrainis - A valid CPR
For resident Expatriates – (a Valid CPR or Bahrain Driving License) and Passport copies with residence permit page
 
How much does it cost to open a Zain Wallet account?
Opening a Zain Wallet account is FREE.
 
Will I have to change my phone number?
Not required, if you are a Zain Customer. Currently, we are able to offer the service only through Zain; however, if you are currently with any other Telecommunication Company, we will swap your SIM at no charge, but under current regulations, you will have to change your phone number.
 
How will the person receiving the money be verified and authenticated?
The money will be directly going to your Mobile Account as an instant credit. There is no verification required. The person will receive an SMS advising of funds received. The account number is checked to ensure that the account number exists.
 
Does the person I am sending money to using my Mobile need a Zain Wallet account?
For international remittances, NO
For G-Cash Customers: NO The beneficiary should have a G-Cash account in Philippines.
For India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, the beneficiary form must be filled and signed by you. The forms are available at any of the Nonoo Branches. After the forms are filled you need to call the centre and do an international remittance.
For domestic payments (payments within Bahrain, P2P) YES
The person receiving the money should be a Zain Wallet Subscriber
 
What happens if I forget my PIN?
Mobile PIN’s can be reset by calling Call Centre. Authentication will happen using security questions.
 
I think someone else has found out/guessed my PIN; What should I do?
You can change your Pin o the phone using the security menu in Zain Wallet, or alternatively Call the Call Centre immediately to disable your desired channel.
 
How do I put money into my Zain Wallet account?
Please use Cash deposit facility in Nominated Zain or Nonoo branches
 
How long do I have to wait before I can spend any money credited to my account?
An SMS message indicating Credit in your Mobile Account will appear on your Mobile within few seconds after you do a Cash Deposit at any of the nominated Zain or Nonoo branches. After receiving SMS message you are free to transact using this money.
 
What is the time taken for a transaction?
 Within 3 to 4 seconds the transaction will be sent from ZAIN mobile but the reception at the other end depends on their network
 
What happens if I lose my phone?
Contact the Call centre and we will disable access to your account from your phone (we will need to ask you some security questions to validate your identity). Call Centre operators will advice you on how best to re-activate your account so you can be fully operational again as soon as possible. Also ensure to report to Zain that you have lost your Mobile.
 
What happens if I change my mobile phone/ phone number?
Contact the call centre to transfer your account to your new mobile number.
 
I have entered my PIN incorrectly on my phone several times; What happens?
You can enter you PIN wrongly only for 3 times. After that you cannot use Zain Wallet to perform transactions. You need to contact Call Centre to unblock and reset the PIN. Call Centre will authenticate you before doing this.
